»until further notice«
Louisa Boeszoermeny, You Gu, Moritz Haase, Fee Hollmig, Miji Ih, Dana Rabea Jäger, Lee Thieler
Collective exchange and communication between different and yet similar visual worlds are the focus of this exhibition with works by Louisa Boeszoermeny, You Gu, Moritz Haase, Fee Hollmig, Miji Ih, Dana Rabea Jäger and Lee Thieler.
“Until further notice” tells of the discrepancy in our perception of outside and inside worlds. The works move in the field of tension between expectations, hope and longing. There are personal moments which suggest a departure or an impending change. The depictions of individual memories and experiences open up towards fiction: Shiny surfaces merge with seemingly objective observations, melt into violet, surreal visions, rigid moments seem to stretch, dark shadows and colour shades meander in the incidence of light – the artists featured in the exhibition describe their subjective perception as a construct on the threshold between fiction and reality.
In the works, different worlds intertwine, compete, shatter and try to reconstruct. A spectacle of coolness and (lack of) distance creeps into the exchange between the inside and the outside. Ultimately the attempt to isolate fails. A common constant of the works is the view onto the process of change itself: a pause in time of the departure that remains for now – until further notice.
