Description
Thirteen resulting portraits of Albert’s engagement with the cofrades are engraved and printed as original heliogravures by Fanny Boucher of Atelier Hélio’g, Paris. These are encased in a crafted box, lined with fabric woven by the local Maya community. This numbered and signed limited edition of thirteen is a unique interplay between photography and craftsmanship, to be discovered during the evening together with a selection of the helioengraved copper matrixes. At the invitation of the curators Lena Gudd and Antonin Pons Braley, helioengraver Fanny Boucher talks about the journey behind this unique artist book.
The exhibition cycle today, Maya society, taking place since May at Tumuult Space culminates on Thursday in the presentation of Ajpatan. The artist book will afterwards be available for consultation on appointment for another month.
