STRAHLER – Raum für Fotografie celebrates its 5th anniversary with 4 concerts and 100 photographs by Uta Neumann
Join us for Uta Neumann‘s ‚Stranded Places & Other Landscapes‘ – an exhibition of 100 photographs from the last 10 years of her artistic practice. And an audio series which will present 4 concerts from the new music and Echtzeitmusik scenes in Berlin. The pictures can be purchased at an exclusive jubilee price.

Stranded Places & Other Landscapes
The definition of a ‚landscape‘ is quite diverse. It is not only a natural event with a particular large-scale dimension and perspective, but can also occur in intimate places, like the fissure of a stone or the corner of a room. One can also find it possible to experience an audible landscape, whose reverberations expand into in the viewer’s body.
During my travels, I discovered similarities in the various landscapes of different countries. These similarities were useful to acquaint my own understanding with what was foreign. The love of objects which appear banal lead me towards stones of various sizes and placings, little huts of undefined purpose, windows, doors and passageways – things and places touched by human actions, which I saw as a connection between my own and another’s reality. In these very simple objects and unnoticed places and scenes, my vision was expanded as if they, themselves, were offering me the room to do so.
