Description
St. Oberholz Presents invites you to its 4th series at St. Oberholz cafe at Zehdenicker Str. 1.
This time the aspiring photographer and artist Philipp Pusch is inviting you to the official opening of his latest exhibition and, simultaneously, the publication of his latest art work “Haus D” at St. Oberholz in Berlin Mitte on January 12, 2017.
What will be shown is an extract from his analogue black and white photo series, which is part of his eponymous photo booklet, as well as a video installation titled “Bildung”.
Among other things Philipp Pusch is known for his portrait series “fertig” and the photo book “kurz vor gestern”, which was published in 2015.
One could also spot his work in various national and international group exhibitions during the last couple of years.
Central to his work is examining the transparency of feelings and, consequently going along with that, universal snapshots of an individual. Further on, his photography is marked by special attention towards the artists surroundings. Thus, he designs geometrical shapes and creates precise and detailed compositions containing a very individual kind of imagery.
Here again do geometrical shapes as well as architecture constitute an important focus of his work. The people being photographed seem to stay furtive, in secrecy, apparently visible, yet still invisible. They almost blend in with their environment, which has been constructed by the artist himself. Through his composition he creates a symbiotic relationship between space, shape and human being, which almost depicts a sculptural character. Pusch produces a melancholic pictorial world, he brilliantly transports feelings and equally poses the question regarding to the house itself.
The photo booklet will be available for a donation in a limited edition of 50 copies.
The new series HAUS D will be presented at 2 venues in Berlin Mitte:
The main venue is the St. Oberholz Coffee Lab in Zehdenicker Str. 1., the secondary venue St. Oberholz in Rosenthaler Str. 72A.
The opening & finissage take place at St. Oberholz Zehdenicker Str. 1.
