In 2015 and 2016, the photographer Sonja Hamad travelled to Syria and Northern Iraq, to portray Kurdish freedom fighters. This resulted in landscape and detailed shots, that capture with a documentarian outlook, the destruction and emptiness after war. For the first time, this solo exhibition presents the entire series as well as the locally produced recordings of songs, sung by the fighters.
