»GEFUNDEN (FOUND)«

Ingar Krauss, Wolfgang Leber, Sarah Straßmann, Ulrich Wüst

Works of three photographers and one painter are shown together under the title “FOUND”.
For many years, Ulrich Wüst has been working with found objects that he discovers at home, on the grounds around his house, or in his garden. From the series Nachlass/Grabungen (Legacy/Excavations), the series Glas (Glass, 2010/11) is on view, among others. In her works, Sarah Strassmann investigates the relationship between object and space, light and darkness. Works from the series Shifting record hidden museum objects in storage (ongoing project since 2015). In his works of the series Von Pflanzen und Tieren (Of Plants and Animals, 2010/16) Ingar Krauss creates classic still-life motifs that take on a surreal quality. Painter Wolfgang Leber transforms found metal and wooden objects into bizarre and humorous sculptures.
In each of their works, the artists underscore the presentation of transience, of disappearance, while the exhibition itself becomes a cabinet of curiosities.

The exhibition is part of EMOP Berlin — EUROPEAN MONTH OF PHOTOGRAPHY 2018.
