Safelight Berlin will be hosting Berto Herrera’s solo exhibition & Zine launch of his project »48.T.K.Y.1«!
The 48 series is an exploration into environments, space, people and the human psyche – it’s a visual study of travel in a post digital world and his experience as he moves throughout those environments. The first edition out of ten, explores Tokyo, observing the culture as an outsider. Using only a compact camera and seven rolls of film for 48 hours – welcome to 48.T.K.Y.1.
Germany based expat, Berto Herrera, has developed a name for himself as a global artist. Classically trained in fine art, Berto launched his career as a graphic designer, but it was while working as an art director for product campaign shoots, that he found a way to capture both his love for culture and design through photography. His works are driven by consumerism, late-capitalism, corporatism, and identity.
