Can pictures be musical? Can music be transferred into a purely visual dimension?
The participants of the Ebba Dangschat project course dealt with music for over a year as a source of inspiration for photographic visualizations.
Different approaches have been tried to sensitize the eye and ear as sensory organs. Various structural components as well as more complex forms of expression of music such as jazz or classical music have been transferred into visual forms that formally translate the original musical idea. The main goal was to create music for the eyes from pictures.
The results of this experimental exploration are shown in a group photographic exhibition in which fictional and associative approaches also play a role, as do installative and auditory elements.
A catalog with colored illustrations will be published accompanying the exhibition.
