Master Class 2017

Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie

Students who have earned a degree in photography are eligible to apply for the master class.

The course will be directed by Prof. Ute Mahler in collaboration with Ingo Taubhorn, photographer and curator of photography at the «Deichtorhallen» Hamburg. The course language is German.

The students’ objective will be to conceptualize and implement a new project in practice, having completed their examination thesis.
Intensive group dialogue on photography and the resulting photographs form the course’s foundation.

There will be a maximum of 12 participants.

The main focus of the master class will be on enhancing knowledge and expanding photographic competence. The reinforcement and consolidation of each student’s individual photographic language will be at the centre of this endeavour.
In addition, a guest will be invited to each compact course: Photographers, curators, publishers, gallery owners.

The fifth master class will begin in October 2017.
The participants will meet every three months for three days – Friday to Sunday – to discuss their progress. The course will last a total of three semesters.

The application deadline is 4th of September 2017.

Please find all further details on the Ostkreuzschule website.
