Liebe Grüße (de: formal/informal; to send your kind regards/warm wishes; often used in association with a place) – from where, actually? – from the most diverse realities in which we find ourselves since we were thrown back on ourselves by the pandemic. We send Liebe Grüße from Brandenburg, which has been hiked through. From artists‘ studios that are in danger of being forgotten. We send Liebe Grüße from an office that is suddenly vacant – exposing what has been left behind. We send Liebe Grüße from the Spree, which has been looked at in its entire length. Liebe Grüße from a Corona pregnancy, from the imaginative spaces of alternative ways of living. We send Liebe Grüße from a laboratory for observing states of matter, Liebe Grüße from the future. Liebe Grüße from the uninhabited present. We send Liebe Grüße from the garden as a place of refuge and from the inner-city vacuum of Kreuzberg.
We haven’t seen each other for a long time. But we are still here, we have not ceased to exist – nor to photograph. In this exhibiton, 11 photographers show what they have seen – and what has moved them – since the beginning of the Corona pandemic in spring 2020.
