Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie | Seminar Grit Schwerdtfeger

It can be yearned for or feared, caused or broken into. It can inspire, agitate or demand, push forward or push back, enable or force. It may happen sluggishly or in seconds, controlled or uncontrollable.

»von hier aus« presents eleven photographic perspectives on change.

Over the course of a year, Nadine Breuer, Fabrizio Dal Vera, Martin Hufnagel, Hansi Knobloch, Christine Joos, Susanne Jeschke, Angela Kröll, Jutta Seubert, Birgit Stelo, Daniela Voss and Elisabeth Wirth explored transition and change in their seminar led by Grit Schwerdtfeger at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie. They enter new terrain and expose what has been traumatised. They document the layers and obstinate formations that arise when ground is made for something new. They sense places where time, contingency and abandonment have an effect. They are manipulating material and make transformation haptically tangible. They tell of growing and letting go, of becoming and settling in.
