With the exhibition of the year 17, the graduates of the Berlin Ostkreuz School of Photography present their final projects.
The 22 series range between documentary and fine art photography, and deal with important political, social, and personal topics: A teenager growing up in an American military base in Ansbach, the promise of eternal life through cryonics, intimate portraits of complex female figures, the facets of Self-assertion and the search for identity by non-binary people in sex work, insights into a self-sufficient way of life on the edge of civilization, staged portraits in the midst of enchanted forest clearings, the Genex Tower and the standstill of time in Belgrade, humorous looks at German offices, longing for great happiness in small ones living rooms, the documentation of escape at the borders of Europe, the fateful visitation by forest fires, and much more.

Mit der Ausstellung des Jahrgang 17 präsentieren die Absolvent:innen der Berliner Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie ihre Abschlussprojekte.
Die 22 Arbeiten bewegen sich zwischen dokumentarischer und künstlerischer Fotografie und behandeln wichtige politische, soziale, wie auch persönliche Themen: Das Aufwachsen einer Jugendlichen in einem amerikanischen Militärstützpunkt in Ansbach, das Versprechen auf ein ewiges Leben mittels Kryonik, intime Porträts komplexer Frauenfiguren, die Facetten der Selbstbehauptung und Identitätssuche nicht binärer Personen in der Sexarbeit, Einblicke in eine autarke Lebensweise am Rande der Zivilisation, inszenierte Porträts inmitten von verwunschenen Waldlichtungen, dem Genex Tower und der stehengebliebenen Zeit in Belgrad, humoristische Blicke in deutsche Ämter, Sehnsucht nach dem großen Glück in kleinen Wohnzimmern, die Dokumentation von Flucht an den Grenzen Europas, die schicksalhafte Heimsuchung durch Waldbrände, uvm.
