Dagmar Gester

„It’s the foggiest winter in eighty years […].

noted resistance fighter, writer and journalist Ruth Andreas-Friedrich 1948 in her diary.
70 years after the beginning of the Berlin Blockade, photographer Dagmar Gester takes stock of the historical location at the former Tempelhof airfield.
Changing utilisation concepts have left their marks: Past and present are blurred as in the fog. Dagmar Gester generates a picture chronicle out of this paradox. The result is a personal view of one of the most important places of remembrance of the Cold War.

The exhibition is accompanied by a framework program of an artist talk & guided tours – please visit the venue website for further details. All framework events are held in German.
