»Monat der Fotografie-Off Berlin 2020«

4th edition

Oct 15 — Nov 30, 2020

The fourth edition of the Monat der Fotografie-Off Berlin brings together 24 exhibitions, each with a different approach: from historical research to fiction, from narration to abstraction and media self-referentiality between tradition and reinvention.

The exhibitions were selected by an expert jury from a longlist of submitted entries. What they have in common is the awareness that what we capture is always an interpretation of what we perceive, is subject to many influences, is dependent on prior knowledge, expectations, interests and emotions. In times of excitement, there is a need to pause, to take a break, and to reflect. This also creates space for new things, for unexpected reference points to appear that can contribute to the understanding of future paradigms.

The »Monat der Fotografie-Off Berlin« was initiated by the curator Christel Boget (ParisBerlin>fotogroup) and takes place in different locations in Berlin. (Text: Lotte Laub; excerpt from the editorial)
