When photography and text are brought together, a rich relationship arises, each enhancing the other and resulting in multiple interpretations. With the addition of a third element, form, the image breaks its two-dimensionality to give the work depth beyond a visual nature. In some cases form invites or even relies on the observer to go a step further and physically engage the work, simultaneously interpreting and creating meaning.
The exhibition presents ten projects which were created during a yearlong course led by photographer and photography instructor Ebba Dangschat at the Photocentrum of the Gilberto Bosques Adult Education Center Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
