MONAT DER FOTOGRAFIE OFF Berlin 2020 Jury Prize

ExtractArt: Petrov Ahner, Tabea Baumann, Lena Engel, Minna Etein, Flora Fanzutti, Maren Katerbau, Daniel Schaal, Tim van den Oudenhoven, Aidan Wallace

OPEN during November / GEÖFFNET im Nov

‘Escaping_Photography_’ presents a selection of artistic positions by photographers and “non-photographers”, each with a unique and experimental relationship to the medium of photography.

The question that visual artists (have to) grapple with in the age of instant reproduction is the process of reapplying and reinventing the respective media in which they work.

‘Escaping_Photography_’ refers to the process of artists turning away from the medium of the classic photographic image. The spectrum of works shows that this step can go in different directions, from collage and painting techniques to exploring the technical limits of photography to using new ways to produce a unique image using traditional techniques.

Notice: as the vernissage will be a “soft opening”, we welcome visitors to register beforehand (click the Time Slot link on extractart.eu) and also happily encourage anyone to get in touch to arrange a private viewing (info@1745833688extra1745833688ctart1745833688.eu1745833688 or 0178 14 79 478).
