Group Exhibition

»ENGELBERG – STAGED PHOTOGRAPHY«

Katharina Mayer, Matthias Leupold, Andrej Glusgold, Kurt Buchwald

Curated by Franziska Schmidt

Engelberg is the name of a group of artists who collaborate with the aim of making it possible to experience a complex “image of time” beyond their own perception of images and their respective oeuvre.

The four artists Buchwald, Glusgold, Leupold and Mayer, who work with the medium of photography, are united by the performing moment in their pictures. The selected works question and fathom the self and the counterpart in “contact with the world” by means of staging in front of or behind the camera as well as in space. In the exhibition, similarities, synergies, and connecting lines between the protagonists become clear, deepen, or diverge.

The presentation at the Galerie Pankow is the first institutional exhibition as a group with photographs, drawings, objects, and installations.
