Description
A question of Identity?
Who are we? What do we defend? How do we define ourselves? These questions seem omnipresent, and not only after Trump’s electoral victory in the USA. The sixth edition of the Berlin photo book series New York Edited is being released under this year’s title, Identity.
Identity advances points of view and life situations through various photographic positions, documented by young photographers at the International Center of Photography (ICP) New York and edited by picture editors at the Ostkreuz School of Photography (OKS) Berlin.
The two young women on the cover give this point of view a face. An unadulterated photo book about a country, a city and its people. Their individual coexistence, their paths, and their personal highs and lows.
Each year talented photographers develop expressive stories as part of the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program at the ICP. The picture editors at the OKS present their 2017 final project with New York Edited. Identity. A book about people, their lives, love, courage, fear, and hope.
The graduates of the 2016/7 Picture Editing class at the Ostkreuz School Berlin invite you to a book release!
New York Edited. Identity will also be available in mid-February at 25books Berlin.
