Description
Galerie D.I.N., designed by Julie Biron architect and Maycec photographer is an architectural proposal for art exhibitions in public spaces. It questions the place and accessibility of art in the public sphere, and how urban design can promote new forms of diffusing art.
‘Gallery’ refers to a place for exhibiting and selling art, but etymologically also means a place to stroll, a promenade, both for inside and outside spaces. This double meaning represents the basic idea of Galerie D.I.N.: an art gallery as a 3D-longitudinal structure, which stretches along the pavement and becomes part of the public realm. The staggered geometry allows pedestrians to walk freely through the gallery; they can stop and have a look at the exhibited art pieces or just pass by.
Participating artists:
Holger Biermann | Laure Catugier
