Description
“TANN” is the closing exhibition of the 2015-2016 seminar taught by Grit Schwerdtfeger at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie in Berlin. Nine “forest” themed bodies of work are exhibited. The forest occurs again and again as a theme in photography. The challenge for the seminar participants was to develop a unique personal perspective. Private moments, emotions and stories to find and hold. Can the forest be anywhere? Are there forests to be found where apparently there are none? Is forest a feeling that is location independent? What historical traces are hidden in the forest?
The results are very different approaches and works that enable the viewer to rediscover the “forest”.
