Fototreff Berlin is a professional photographers and editors meeting, providing a critical discourse towards photograpy, its authorship, editing and presentation from various artistic and documentary perspectives. Bring and present your own work, ask relevant questions and discuss with others.

On the 23rd of July, among others, Maria Sturm is presenting her new book “For Birds’ Sake“, which was exhibited at the Gallery Pavlov’s Dog in May/June. She will talk about the american and the european photographic discourse and discuss her actual photographic work.
Maria Sturm was born in 1985 in Ploiesti, Romania and lives in Germany since 1991. Maria received her diploma in Photography and Media from University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld in 2012. Maria has won several prizes including the New York Photo Award 2012 and the DOCfeld Dummy Award Barcelona 2015 with the work “Be Good”. She’s currently doing an MFA in Photography at the Rhode Island School of Design and therefore received a Fulbright and a DAAD scholarship. (Text: Tillmann Prüfer)
