The Fotografie Collective Berlin presents the group exhibition “Fluid Identities” as part of the arts festival “48 Stunden Neukölln”. The exhibition illustrates approaches to questions of identity formation and presentation.
Today’s digital realm offers our identities new forms of expression. Our selfconcepts are often constructed, cultivated and expanded. What remains true, and what is authentic?
Do we grow lonely through social media, walking down busy streets, smartphones in hand, eyeballed by omnipresent video surveillance and algorithms? What mass traces of data do we leave behind on the web and who benefits from them?
Each of the photographers makes use of different methods and techniques, varying from film to cameraless photography, from traditional analogue processes to experimental alternatives.
