Group Exhibition

»Stille Post«

With works by members of the “Blaue Ampel” artist group:

Carola Thielecke, Gabriel Janach, Iren Böhme, Karl Förster, Marcel Schock, Monika von Wegerer, Peter Krabbe, Stefan Postius, Thilo Seibt

The photographic dialogue usually takes place between 2 photographers. These can be well-known to each other or complete strangers. The conversation starts from an initial photo, the two partners in the coversation then take turns to respond to the picture the other has sent within short intervals (2-14 days). In this exhibition we will be showing dialogues between the members of the Blaue Ampel group.

Short or long series of images are created, which are based on the principle of proposal and answer. Like in the game “Chinese Whispers”, it is not always possible to understand exactly what the answer of the dialogue partner is about. Each person will respond in his or her own personal way. Sometimes they will pick up on a visual aspect – sometimes respond to something more subtle, but always guided by the attempt to find a common rhythm. A photographic game of two halves!

These dialogues are presented in concertina albums, i.e. as books that unfold in their entirety and can be constantly transformed in front of the viewer’s eyes while leafing through. In contrast to a book format, this also allows a complete overview of all pages.
