The programme of GALERIE SPRINGER BERLIN focuses on photography and comprises a group of international artists whose works form insightful dialogues. Besides four to six exhibitions in Berlin and the participation in leading national and international art fairs, our activities are completed by support service for private and public collections.
Gallery artists include, amongst others: Andy Goldsworthy, Anna Lehmann-Brauns, Arnold Odermatt, Catherine Gfeller, Denmark (Marc Robbroeckx), Edward Burtynsky, Georges Rousse, Lohner Carlson, Wiebke Elzel and Jana Müller. The gallery works amongst others, with A. R. Penck, Gerhard Richter, Georg Baselitz and Herbert Hamak in the art trade.
The gallery was founded in 1991 in Frankfurt (Main) as Springer & Winckler Galerie. In 1998 it moved to Berlin into the spaces of Rudolf Springer, Robert Springer’s father, who retired at this time after 50 years of gallery activity and art dealing. Since 2012 the gallery is led by Heide and Robert Springer as GALERIE SPRINGER BERLIN, a name full of tradition.
