Das Giftraum | »CONSTRUCTIONS of SPACE« Robert Herrmann & Jean-Baptiste Monnin

Jean-Baptiste Monnin and Robert Herrmann are two berlin-based visual artists. Both having an architectural education they observe, question and interpret the built environment. For the work they show in Das Giftraum they find themselves exploring urban space all around the world – each of them in his own way.

Jean-Baptiste’s photorealistic, yet abstract drawings are results of a meticulous process involving different media, whereas Robert’s photographs are records of contemporary cityscapes charged with time. Jean-Baptiste focuses on the details that define urban space and Robert explores what is going on in the space between buildings. These two positions inform a creative tension that provide the foundation for their first joint exhibition.
