Description
On the occasion of the EMOP Opening Days of the European Month of Photography Berlin 2016, C/O Berlin is offering Portfolio Reviews over a period of two days. They will take place from September 30th to October 1st, 2016 in the Museum für Fotografie / Helmut Newton Foundation. Interested photographers can submit their applications online via the festival website from August 8th to September 4th, 2016.
Present your photographs in one-on-one discussions, explain your image ideas in person and benefit from the knowledgable opinions of 31 international experts! For Portfolio Reviews, 80 photographers, artists, and students will have the chance to present their photographic work to world-renowned experts in 15 minute-long individual discussions – including photographers, curators, art directors, journalists and gallery owners.

Gerry Badger, Christoph Bangert, Nadine Barth, Alexa Becker, Michael Biedowicz, Adam Broomberg, Bruno Ceschel, Jörg Colberg, Lucy Conticello, Michael Danner, Dr. Ludger Derenthal, Rein Deslé, Marcel Feil, Paul Graham, Nina Grundemark, Dr. Matthias Harder, Simon Karlstetter, Milo Keller, Simone Klein, Dr. Christina Leber, Maren Lübke-Tidow, Lesley A. Martin, Joel Meyerowitz, Robert Morat, Joachim Naudts, Timothy Persons, Katia Reich, Inka Schube, Aaron Schuman, Thomas Seelig and Dr. Christiane Stahl.
How are the reviews done?
During registration, interested photographers can book three or six discussions and select their preferred reviewers. The Portfolio Reviews are divided into four time blocks over two days – each day from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm to 7 pm.
How do I apply?
Photographers can submit their portfolio with up to 20 photos (5 MB) in digital format. In addition to the portfolio, a short project description in German and English with a maximum length of 300 characters per language as well as a short resumé and the completed online form available on the website must be filled out. From the submitted applications, a pre-selection of 80 photographers will be made.
What do the Portfolio Reviews cost?
An application fee of 90 euros for three discussions or 150 euros for six reviews will be charged.
