This exhibition is dedicated to the fragments that we perceive.
When we give our full attention to what is right in front of us, suddenly, we no longer see the whole, but also its parts. The parts and pieces that constitute the whole and how they are related. The subjects, sometime Objects painstakingly peel out of gloomy, underexposed environments until an image emerges.

The photographs primarily focus on human encounter and, as if in search of a confirmation of their own materiality, the photographic subjects question their relationship to their surroundings – to surfaces, structures and materials.
The result is an exhibition that dissects us as humans into individual parts. Individual parts that often find no place in photography and fall prey to our collective illusions of flawless perfection. The bruises, the birthmarks, the scars. It is these things, these parts, these fragments of people that the photographs pay attention to in his exhibition.

Lennart Sydney Kofi studied in the class of Ute Mahler at HAW Hamburg before he pursued a career in fashion photography. Lennart Sydney Kofi lives in Berlin. “Fragments” is his first solo exhibition.
