You are cordially invited to attend the 9th talk in the 5th series of ‘Beyond the Ring’ with Verónica Losantos.
‘Beyond the Ring’ is an informal set of artists’ talks / presentations / performances by international artists based in Berlin and visiting artists passing through. ‘Beyond the Ring’ is there to provide the opportunity for people to meet and share their thoughts, ideas and work. If you’re interested in joining in, you will see that there is life Beyond the Ring in Berlin.
Verónica Losantos
Verónica Losantos, born 1984 in Logroño (Spain) finished her studies in Audiovisual Communication & Media in June 2007 at the Burgos University. After that she moved to Berlin where she completed a degree in Photography & Design at the Lette Verein School.
Her work deals with subjects concerning memory, the passing of time and its traces or resulting changes, and about the relationship between photographic and psychological processes. She uses photography as an explorative process, often examining personal and past experiences, working mainly with analogue film in different formats.
She has already won several prizes & contests as the Talents 36 by C/O Berlin; the Kunstpreis Fotografie Berlin Brandenburg Lotto 2016 and the Foro PHOTOESPAÑA – Comunidad de Madrid “Hacer” among others. Her last project “Mansilla” (ongoing) was exhibited at last years European Month of Photography Berlin at Pavlov’s Dog Gallery, and the photo book dummy of this very same project was selected for the Kassel Dummy Awards 2018.
Her works have been also exhibited internationally: at the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, the Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie Festival, PHOTOESPAÑA Festival in Spain, the Studio81 in Padua and the Fondazione Fotografia Moden in Italy, the gallery World in a Room Berlin, the Contact Photography Festival in Toronto and the gallery f5,6 in Munich to name a few. She is currently absolving a Masters Degree in Photography & Design at the FH Bielefeld and working at the Education Department of Marta Herford Museum.
