‘Beyond the Ring’ is an informal set of artists’ talks / presentations / performances by international artists based in Berlin and visiting artists passing through. ‘Beyond the Ring’ is there to provide the opportunity for people to meet and share their thoughts, ideas and work. If you’re interested in joining in, you will see that there is life Beyond the Ring in Berlin.

Mårten Lange

Nature, technology and the photographic impulse to catalogue the world are recurring themes in Swedish artist Mårten Lange’s work. Ranging from high tech laboratories to city pigeons, the asteroid that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs to the homogenous architecture of 21st century capitalism, Lange’s work comes together in a singular monochrome view of the world.

Lange will talk about the development of his practice, how he works with editing and sequencing, and about his most recent projects. Working primarily with photography books, Lange has published nine titles, most recently The Mechanism (MACK, 2017). He lives and works in Berlin.
