Origin is an interdisciplinary exhibition by Galerie Anahita Sadighi and White Label Project that brings together art, design and craft from the Global South in a poetic and political dialogue. At its core are the voices of women – artists, makers and activists – whose work connects feminist thought, cultural memory and social transformation.
The exhibition creates a conversation between historical artifacts and contemporary works. Persian ceramics, Mbuti-Textilien textiles, nomadic weavings, enter into dialogue with photographs, installations and pieces by artists such as Forough Alaei, Yumna Al-Arashi, Wenxin Zheng, Gabriella Alatorre, and design objects by women-led brands from the White Label Project network.
A central motif is the amphora – a vessel often associated with femininity, fertility and transformation. Recontextualised through a delicate floral intervention, it becomes a symbol of the body, of nature, and of remembered histories.
Origin marks the beginning of a curatorial series that highlights artistic practices by women from non-Western contexts. The exhibition is also dedicated to the feminist movement in Iran and the global resonance of Woman, Life, Freedom.

About the Curator
As the founder of her Berlin-based gallery, Anahita Sadighi is committed to fostering culturaldialogue through art, design and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her curatorial practice bridges historical and contemporary perspectives with a strong focus on feminist narratives, interconnectivity and artistic innovation.
With over a decade of experience in the art world, she curates exhibitions, develops cultural programs and creates immersive event formats, including The Loft presents – a multidisciplinaryseries at the intersection of art, music and performance.
About White Label Project
WLP is a carefully curated digital concept store and community platform dedicated to empowering emerging, sustainable brands and artists worldwide. WLP brings together fashion, interior design, and fine art photography, informed by inspiring stories, traditional craftsmanship, indigenous knowledge, and responsible materials.
We recently launched our first physical concept store with integrated WLP ART gallery, located in the renowned gallery district of Berlin-Mitte at Kleine Hamburger Straße 15. This unique fusion of concept store and art gallery will spotlight emerging and leading artists and their contemporary photography, with a focus on cultural diversity and global creativity. Alongside this, we will showcase curated design products from female-led impact brands from the Global South in fashion and interiors.
Die Ausstellung Origin bringt zeitgenössische Kunst, traditionelles Handwerk und kuratorischesErzählen in ein vielschichtiges Zusammenspiel. Sie ist das Ergebnis einer Zusammenarbeit zwischen Anahita Sadighi und White Label Project – einer Plattform, die sich der Förderung von Frauen im Design, dem Erhalt handwerklicher Techniken und einer ethisch fundierten Produktionsweise widmet.
Im Zentrum stehen die kreativen Stimmen von Frauen aus dem Globalen Süden. Historische Objekte wie persische Amphoren, Mbuti-Textilien und seltene nomadische Webereien, treten in Dialog mit zeitgenössischen Arbeiten von Forough Alaei, Yumna Al-Arashi, Gabriela Alatorre, Wenxin Zheng, sowie mit Designobjekten aus dem Netzwerk von frauengeführten Labels des White Label Project.
Die Ausstellung ist geprägt von einer feministischen kuratorischen Haltung, die nichtwestliche Narrative sichtbar macht und Raum für künstlerische Gegenentwürfe schafft. Im Fokus stehen Ausdrucksformen weiblicher Kreativität, die über Generationen hinweg in Material, Technik und Symbolik eingeschrieben sind – als Formen des Widerstands, der Erinnerung und der Hoffnung.
Ein zentrales Motiv ist die Amphore, ein Gefäß, das für Körper, Wandel und Geschichte steht. In der Ausstellung wird sie durch eine florale Intervention neu kontextualisiert und als Symbol für Natur, Erinnerung und Fürsorge lesbar.
Origin versteht künstlerisches Erbe nicht als Archiv der Vergangenheit, sondern als lebendige Praxis, die Gegenwart und Zukunft berührt. Die Ausstellung ist zugleich eine Hommage an die feministische Bewegung Woman, Life, Freedom, deren Kraft in vielen der gezeigten Werke spürbar wird.
Parallel zur Ausstellung wird ein digitaler Viewing Room auf den Webseiten von Anahita Sadighi und White Label Project zugänglich sein.
