We are happy to announce our upcoming exhibition including images from „form follows function“ and „skulpturen“, opening on September 12th at A Little Space.

Johannes Rigal has been working on found objects and structures for the past year. These sculptures – readymades – archaeological findings not only entwine different objects that might otherwise not be linked with each other, but they also show man’s conscious or unconscious shaping of his invironment.

Michael Frank’s images of medical and veterinary specimens have been awarded the Wellcome Image Award in the past and are now shown together with Johannes’ work. An object hidden deep inside the body has been brought to light. The challenge lies in rendering the specimen, through the photographic process, from simple tissue in formaldehyde to an aesthetic element. Parts are declassified and form supersedes function. The resulting abstract dialogue highlights the unique role of photography to render the invisible visible.
