Workshop
»From Images to Narratives«
Autumn Class with Eva Maria Ocherbauer & Ben Chislett
This workshop seeks to train the participants’ ability to combine images into narratives in order to create a strong and coherent body of work and as such define their own “visual signature.”
The participants will work on a given task and will perform basic analysis of photographic imagery in relation to content and context. They will learn to understand context in relation to the history and development of photography and to apply basic visual elements and how they communicate ideas in order to create photographic realities out of initial ideas and concepts. In this way, participants acquire the critical tools to discuss and analyze their own and others’ work so as to give constructive criticism using the basic rules of composition and their own sense of aesthetics.
The workshop is supplemented by one day of technical teaching with photographer Ben Chislett. This day is designed to giving participants an overview of how complicated the colour process truly is and how to maintain accuracy to a maximum. Themes covered will include the eye, light, camera sensors and calibration, software, colour profiles, monitor calibration, and printer profiles.
Fee: 590 Euros
