For the serie ‘Krödde’ plants were taken from their environment – the former island of Middag – complete with root system brought into a photo studio in glass laboratory vessels. The dialect word Krödde stands for weeds and so are all photos are labeled with regional plant names to refer to theire growing place. Unexposed, almost 100 year old negative material was used for the photo series. Agfa glass plates from the 1930s – obtained from the legacy of photographer Harm Botman 1952-2012 – were exposed, developed and printed on vintage photographic paper. The result is a series of 15 analog prints showing the usual artifacts of 20th century photos.
