Curated by Lara Ohl & Nora Hollstein

Lara Ohl, Nora Hollstein, Hieronymus Ahrens, Tereza Mundilová, Maximilian Thuemler

America – Land of unlimited possibilities and unlimited contradictions. Judgements and prejudices, clichés and stereotypes often shape our image of the United States, which is an idol for some and an enemy for others. Hardly any other nation is able to unite or divide minds so intensely while exerting an ever-present fascination.

Five photographers, driven by this fascination, present different and individual impressions of a country, known to everyone but very hard to define. The artistic works include portraits, landscapes and still lifes; they are each in their own way an approach to a complex nation of great global presence and provide personal insights into its complexity.

With works by Lara Ohl, Nora Hollstein, Hieronymus Ahrens, Tereza Mundilová, and Maximilian Thuemler.
