Exhibition: February 6 – May 3, 2015
curated by Norbert Wiesneth, PhotoWerkBerlin
In an exhibit created specifically for the site Projectspace | PhotoWerkBerlin the artist Boris Eldagsen uses photography, video and billboards that fill walls to create an installation that play with elements of film, theater and painting. His artistic process mixes staged photography with street photography which culminates into spectacular dreamlike images. In search of “whatever holds the world together in its inmost folds” Eldagsen produces night photography full of riddles, refections, shadows and timeless archetypes that unleash into the emotions of the viewer and whose effects unfold into the unconscious.
In his ongoing series “how to disappear completely / THE POEMS” he scrutinizes realities which dissolves through radically suggestive images that are not based in literal description but promotes absorption into states of mind. Boris Eldagsen stands alone in the german photo scene because his work cannot be attributed to any school of photographic style.
